Cohorts, circles, and retreats that help women lead without shrinking, and help workplaces redesign the room instead of asking people to become someone else.

Mahogany Protégé Leadership Cohort

A 6-month leadership journey for Black women and women of color who are navigating workplaces that do not always recognize their full voice or leadership. Inside the cohort, we name what is happening day to day, practice new ways of leading that protect dignity and impact, and design next steps that support both career growth and well-being. The space is care-centered and grounded in research, led by someone who lives this work every day in HR and in scholarship.

You will walk away with

  • A grounded, confident sense of who you are as a leader, beyond any title

  • Language and approaches for hard conversations, feedback, and boundaries

  • Tools for reading power and unwritten norms while staying true to yourself

  • A circle of peers who understand your reality and stay connected beyond the program

  • A written leadership plan that names your next moves and the support you need

This cohort centers Black women and women of color, and the insights strengthen teams and workplaces as a whole. Many participants are sponsored by their employers as part of leadership development and retention efforts.

Work with Mahogany Protégé


Mahogany Protégé develops people for workplaces that want to match their values. Our approach is rooted in the leadership experiences of women who face the strongest workplace barriers because they show us where systems break down first. When we design from that place, the results help everyone.

Women, especially Black women and women of color, can join to grow their voice and leadership. HR and organizational leaders can partner with us to retain and advance diverse talent, strengthen people-centered HR, and build teams where people can lead as themselves. Participation means honoring this focus and protecting a care centered space.

Mahogany Protégé partners with employers who want to retain and

advance Black women and other underrepresented talent.

We bring Mahogany Circles, Leadership Labs, or the Return to Voice retreat to your staff and tailor them to your culture. Our work is grounded in current doctoral research and active HR practice, thereby strengthening retention, equipping managers, and modeling people-centered HR in real time.

Return to Voice Retreat

Return to Voice is an in-person, three-day leadership and healing retreat created for women who have been leading while carrying too much. We examine the workplace and cultural messages that taught us to shrink, overperform, or stay quiet in rooms we helped build. Then we practice new ways of speaking and setting boundaries so we can go back to work leading as ourselves. This retreat is grounded in the leadership stories of women and is open to women and partners who will honor that focus. The goal is simple. Leave clearer. Leave lighter. Leave with a plan you can actually live.
